I find it a bit hard to get excited about a strip that I already commented on seven years ago. Sunday will be the last of this dream on repeat, then we’ll get something new (no doubt with old characters, but hopefully new ones, too).
Tchoupitoulas is a rather well-known street near the French Quarter of New Orleans. It’s named for the Tchoupitoulas Indians. Why he’s the “Terror of the Tchoupitoulas” is beyond me.
As a native of New Orleans, I love seeing Curtis using the word “Tchoupitoulas”, as I did when the strip was first printed in 2016. (Or did Al Capp use it in an earlier Fleegle appearance?)
Don’t know if this has been discussed before — I don’t check the comments every day — but it feels like Dick Tracy is the designated strip to keep copyrighted characters and trademarks from other sources alive. (The “Shenanigans” TV show? So weirdly oddball, although I enjoyed it.)

Apparently Dick and FosDick are quick-change artists.

Good morning™, spooktacular entrances !
I like how the crowd in P.2. is shaded. Very readable while highlighting a drastic appearance.

Well, whoever he is, he’s no Al Capp.

What did Tracy and Fosdick do? Run into an empty room and change into their regular clothes? They were wearing movie usher uniforms the day before.

Maybe he has a ticket to the Movie?

Here’s an interesting bit of information…
Al Nesor played Evil Eye Fleegle in “Lil Abner” on Broadway in 1956…Al closely resembles Fleegle…

The background disappeared on today’s comparison with 2016. The inking is there, but the colors are a wash.

Also, Fleegle is pained very green. Is he supposed to be dead now? Otherwise, no textual changes and nothing else really to note in the comparison.

Well, there he is, folks! The beast with the Evil Eye, himself! Whatever you do, don’t make eye contact with him!
What?
Too late?
You already did?
My condolences.
(Relax, though; we’ll wake up soon….)

The past is gone
Time to carry on
And start anew
Together we’ll get through
Another trip
Down the Tracy strip
Who knows what we’ll get
Will our expectations be met
Only time will tell
If the story’s done well
Either case I’ll be here
Of that you can raise a cheer
Or feel free to release some gas
Whatever helps the discomfort to pass
