BUT. It’s still kinda cute, the other pitcher is so justified for his reaction, the final line works, and the drawing of Daphne is adorable, nice to see a Nate drawing of one of his girlfriends, shockingly rare.

Worthwhile tactic. He took the hit with grace, and she’ll likely be worried about him accordingly. Just don’t flinch when she hugs you after the game and you’ll be golden.

Reusing gags for newer readers doesn’t actually work when anybody can find the original gags on this site and in the previous book collections.
