    /// Here, an armored man stands in a bower,

    and looks left toward the viewer to glower.

    His visage is sour;

    white knuckles show power.

    If you met him, you’d do well to cower.

    A half-length portrait of man in armor because the model wanted to air out the lower half.

    Sans helmet, he was fully armored and ready for battle. Sir Remington’s steel glaze, however, told a deeper story; the Exlax was starting to work.

    All these artists have way more talent than I do, I give them credit. But in many instances, like here, their body proportions are off; faces are clearly the focus; this man’s arms shrink at about the elbow.

    Half-length Portrait of a Man in Armor

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Category:Augustinermuseum Freiburg im Breisgau" site=commons.wikimedia.org

    (syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ecosia, and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and chose the first Category: link found, and once there, search for the text Wilhelm and click its link for info and links that point to more info (perhaps best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) about this roughly jumbo envelope size painting.

    Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3150 (June 19, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment pointing info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 5 works by him have been used here (6 times total including 1 repeat), the June 9, 2022, strip being the prior (the repeat).

    You ever notice, not many boys these days are named “Lance”?

    But back in the days of King Arthur’s Round Table, parents used to name kids Lance a lot!

    He was suited for protection from a belly flop off of the high diving board but not suited for the deep end of the pool.
