Thanks to the local roosters I start getting Woke @ 1200, 0200, 0300, 0430, etc. Thanks to my air fryer and pellet gun, these times are seriously reduced.
Mom hadn’t been home since 1987 except for funerals. My sister and I went in together for a plane ticket so she could fly from Phoenix to BWI and I would picked her up there. Mom wasn’t religious at all. When I was 11 she gave me her bible that my great-grandmother had given her in 1943. I saw the woman only once before in a church and that was for my wedding. My ancestor had helped build the church across the street from my Grandmom’s house (that my grandfather built has as a wedding gift in 1924). It was built in 1822 and the oldest graves are my family’s, so I was interested to see it. When we visited her in 1981 she stopped in the middle of a sentence and asked who I was and why I was in her house. It terrified me. I am guessing that was why we didn’t go during that visit. Her Alzheimer’s was just too bad. Now my uncle had it bad as well, but I think having my aunt and cousins around him daily he still had some of his bearings. Everyday he would walk to the firehouse where he worked for 51 years-with a wooden leg!! that he got in WWII at 17. He was an only son and volunteered. I am so proud of him plus he was a sweetheart. He was talking to my mom and said, “Do you see that lady over there? She sure is purty”. He was talking about his wife of 60 years. They had started going to a different church. There had been a schism and a lot of the congregation left for another church. However many of my family still attended the original church as well as one of my mom’s best friends, and I really wanted to see the inside of the church. I had told my girl’s (who were 10and 12) to mind their manners. We met a lovely man named Elmer who was 96. The girls thought he was great, so those three were behind Mom and I and I do not recall what started it, but we got the giggles and BOTH girls admonished us! Meanwhile Elmer fell asleep.
I am Jewish, husband is Roman Catholic. I go to church with him on Christmas and Easter (only times he goes) – at least until Covid started, since then he has attended mass by watching on TV (he found a mass out of Australia he likes – we live in NYS). I know how to act appropriately as a visitor of another religion at same as I read about it in an Etiquette book when I was in my early teens.
On the other hand, I never ask him to go with me when I go the synagogue to say memorial prayers for my dad annually on the Saturday closest to when he died and on Yom Kippur (in the fall). I prefer to be alone. Have also been attending services for same by TV since Covid started -this year will probably feel comfortable enough going (related to Covid) for the holiday services. But – he does know the proper way to behave when he does go to services with me – such as when niece and nephews or cousins’ children made their bas/bar mitzvahs.

So as long as you can do it (whatever it is) silently/quietly it’s okay?

It is if you’re sitting in the front row so the rest of the congregation can see your screen.

No one should go to church unless they want to be there. They are wasting their time and the 3 guys are distracting the other parishioners.

He needs something to hold his interest, and he not disturbing anyone, except for that crowd gathering behind him to watch the game.

There she goes undermining his authority again. She needs to pay attention to the “wives, submit to your husbands” section a lot closer.
