I just ended a robo call from some MAGA bot soliciting funds to mount a campaign to make it illegal to use the word “rainbow” to describe a species of trout.

We can try to look at the big picture; There is an element whose agenda is to pit people against each other to distract from the bigger picture. ‘Slight of hand’. I grew up in a household like this. A smokescreen created by telling each person the altered ‘opinion’ of the other. I’ve seen and heard so often. It doesn’t even help to try to defend the ‘other’ because the antagonist will twist the truth to fit his or her narrative. Even the term “They or them” sounds antagonistic. I don’t believe that these pronouns were originated by them but was suggested by a manipulating outlier putting an even bigger wedge between the ‘religious’ and the ones who were tired of being marginalized and vilified. “They and them” are often used to explain a situation involving a third part who is often antagonistic. I would like to help brainstorm another, more positive, pronoun or pronouns.Religious people need to stop seeing ‘others’ as enemies and defending our rights to symbols and phrases and looking for a better more effective way to communicate their love for the Christ.

Anyone responding to this in an antagonistic manner will be considered to be against the unity and healing of our nations.

Considering how freaked out South Dakota’s governor got about Ben & Jerry’s icecream, and how Florida’s DeSantis picks fights with Disney, it would not surprise me that more M A G A nutjobs try to cancel more stuff. Weird that conservatives claim to be champions of free speech, but then stomp on top of anyone who uses free speech. Sure some of the LBGTQ people do that as well, but honestly, I wish we could have civil discussions and tone down the hyperbole.
