Arlo appreciate s what Janis had to do for him. Maybe she was right; maybe she was wrong. Regardless he is accepting of her input and concern and realizes it would be ridiculous of him to begrudge that which was done with the best of intentions.
I remember the Monday morning crutch people. They decided to save a buck and do it themselves instead! I participated in one such. Helped friends take down a huge tree. It starts falling and they start running everywhere. I look to see where it is falling and walk perpendicular to it. They are screaming at me to run!! Yeah and get hurt tripping and falling or hit by branches of tree. Luckily no one injured.
I’ve always done everything for myself, mostly because I love using my hands to create, some because I didn’t trust anybody else, and I usually have a certain way I want it done. But now…age and arthritis have made me reach a point where I’ll HAVE to start letting someone else do the things I can’t do any more. It’s quite depressing…
A mans got to know his limitations, if he doesn’t it will cost a bloody fortune to fix, not only the original problem, but whatever his DIY “repair” added
These past few years we’ve had some work done, and my hubby always pronounces, “in my younger days I’d have done this myself”. Of course in our younger days not only were we more flexible we had less money to hire professionals.

After dragging him off the job, “it’s” not worth much.

I’m sure that he has his skills, but that would appear to be more of a contractor’s job than a simple home repair…..

It’s a sign of wisdom to know when “could have” does not equate to “should have.”
