Can we start by not using the words “race, racial, racist” et al? There is only one human species. “Race” is a made-up term used for normalising suppression and prejudice.

What we need to doing is addressing prejudice and hatred as well as identifying where they are ingrained systematically so that we can change the system to be fair and balanced for everyone.

The GQP remedy for inequality is to make all us non-billionaires equally poor and powerless.

If that’s a rich White MAGA, his “trick” is to make racial inequality constantly reappear .

America is a racist country and until we are willing to admit that, we will continue to be one.

Few racists even know they are racist. As MAGA thought proves, one’s ability to delude oneself is extensive. I cannot be racist because …

    1. I am from Brooklyn and racists come from Florida, Texas, North Carolina (name a red state)

    2. I don’t burn a cross on my front lawn (see above, I have NO front lawn.)

    3. If THOSE people just applied themselves like I did, they could make it just like I did.

    4. Why can’t THEY “fit in” just like WE do?

    5. Obama made it so everyone of THEM can make it.

    6. Somehow THEY are causing their OWN problems and THEY are the cause of MY problems.

    7. It’s not my problem.

8 I’m only one person, what can I do?

I’ve gone through a variation of each one of these stages. I might have finally reached enlightenment – whenever I see an attack against the rights of any disenfranchised group, I see it as an attack on my own rights. It took seven decades to develop a healthy sense of empathy, so I now take it personally. I am not one of THEM, but in a not too different reality, I could be.

for some there is only the one cup.

As to the legacy thing. Seems to me parents with any gumption would require their offspring to first make qualifying grades in high school, Then they would ensure that Junior or Elspeth would pick a degree course, graduate in the once traditional 4 years [instead of 6 or 7 or never] with a decent gpa, and move on to graduate school or career. That might be worth celebrating with a financial gift to the institution. In other words, contributing after the fact, instead of buying favoritism to get the result one deserves because of one’s family status.

According to six carefully selected SCOTUS judges, there is no racism in America. Thank goodness they addressed that.

There is no magic about removing bias and preference. My mother would often say, “Birds of a feather flock together,” and she was right. We all essentially prefer our own folks about us, even amonst minorities. What it takes is an experience of other cultures and that has begun to take place with our children. Biracial coupling is higher now than when I was growing up. There is more racial mixing now thanks to school integration and this has led to a greater openness in our society. But, there’s still much work laid out before us and it behooves all if us to work on it, including the minorities themselves.

The right wants us to believe the racial inequality has disappeared, and that there is no structural racism.

Try asking one of them when it all ended.

It’s sort of like the trickle-down theory in reverse. The trickle-down theory, we’re told, would work if we gave it enough time. We all know how well that’s worked over the years.

With racism, the theory seems to be if we ignore it long enough, it will just disappear. We just haven’t ignored it long enough, yet! /S

All these recent decisions are going to backfire on Conservatives. It did in California when Affirmative Action was banned. California has pretty much been a Blue State ever since. What happened when Roe was overturned? How did the Republicans do in the Midterms because of that Supreme Court decision?

This isn’t about Whites getting a fair shake, it’s the Asian/South Asia students being harmed. Here in Kalifornia we are trying to pay Blacks for what the Confederate States did 150 years ago, all while ignoring the horrors this State inflicted on our Asia citizens to this day. Chinese workers built my State while unable to vote, sign a contract or testify in court. The Japanese Americans had their lives destroyed by Democrats in 1942 and got 10k for their misery, but only if they were still living. My area of Kali was a major center of Asian immigration and successful integration despite the racism they faced, my Pops watched as a kid his friends being hauled away for years while their homes and farms were sold to the highest bidder. Kali needs to mind it’s own holocaust.

‘Insult to democracy’: AOC slams Justice Roberts in fight over SCOTUS criticisms

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Friday slammed John Roberts after the Supreme Court’s Chief Justice complained about criticism over the court’s string of decisions that have overturned decades of precedent and roiled progressives since conservatives took a 6-3 majority.AOC called out Roberts after Fox News tweeted an image featuring a quote from Roberts describing criticism of the court’s ruling as “disturbing.”
