I was looking at the comics from 10 years ago when I first found this series, looking at the current art style,..well.., let’s just say I was not prepared for it XD
It must have only just become a powerful talisman of magic or Marigold would have noticed it before. It is probably whatever is inside which is magical.
When I was young, I looked through a book of pictures, wrote the names of the items I wanted on a piece of paper that came with the book, wrote a number and my name on another special piece of paper, put both into an envelope that also came with the book, glued a third special piece of paper to the corner of the envelope, and put it into the box at the end of the driveway.
A few days later, the thing that I wanted appeared in the box.

Maybe it’s filled with coupons for various fast food restaurants! Can’t get more magical than that!

Don’t open it. That thing on it’s side is a red flag.

It’s what’s inside that Marigold is attracted to.

Mail boxes often are magical either on holidays or six to eight business days after you place an order.

What if the magic is coming from a chain letter that’s sitting in the mailbox?

If you’re a kid waiting for a package or special letter, you bet it’s magical. Sadly, reality reasserts itself shortly thereafter.
