Started with an Apple 2e. Loved it. Got talked into an IBM 8088 and got stuck in PC Land. Hated it. Returned to Apple Heaven almost 20 years ago. Never looked back.

Kind of makes me nostalgic. As obnoxious and unhelpful as the Blue Screen of Death was, at least it didn’t talk down to you like the current Light Blue Screen of Frowny Face.

    The Gospel according to Microsoft.

In the beginning there was DOS and it was good. And DOS begot Windows 95 which was bad. Windows 95 begot Windows 98 and the users praised it. Windows 98 begot Windows Millenia which is why God sent a flood to destroy the entire world. Window 98 begot Windows XP and the world was at peace for a long time. Windows XP begot Vista and God said unto Microsoft, “You didn’t learn from Millenia, did you?” Vista begot Windows 7 and the golden age ensued. Windows 7 begot Windows 8 and 8.1 also known as the evil twins. Windows 8 begot Windows 10 which was to be the operating system to end all operating systems. Windows 10 begot Windows 11 and computer manufacturers rejoiced.

I do not miss the days when an application crashed and took the entire operating system with it.

That costume wouldn’t work in today’s flat screen world. :) :)

If there’s still a door handle in the third panel, what is the homeowner reaching through to dump the candy?

Not very often, my Mac has a blue screen of death that slowly rolls down from the top to the bottom. Not very often but it does happen. OSX 10.6.8
