For those that came here to see if he got the correct answer…. 14257 + 24494 = 38751, and 38751 (holding the shift key is #*&%!) So, he did get the correct answer.

Well, he DID do the math correctly. Give him SOME credit, MS. Harrison

Shift Lock can be a problem.

Worse, the grammar and spell checkers auto correct it. And make it worse.

The SHIFT button can be a blessing, and a curse .

I just like the accuracy – many cartoonists wouldn’t bother.

It’s the caps lock button he means. The two shift keys are different.

One website I occasionally use requires me to log in with a password that (a) is long and (b) has more than one special character. So I used my normal password and appended to it “!@#$” (capital “1234” on my desktop keyboard). Then, last week, I was trying to log in to that website on my cell phone. Guess what. No shift available for “1234”. Do you remember what the capitalized version of those numbers is?

You might be able to spell it that way but I dare you to to say it, phonetically of course!

Would shift lock be comic character equivalent of Tourette’s.

This much hoopla over THAT word??? Pfft!

Yes folks, it adds up … and I are an engineer / mathematician / Bell Labs computer programmer, c. 1967, and I checked.
