That’s not quite true, is it Janis? Arlo wanted to just plain get rid of all those boxes in the attic. You wanted to open them all up and potentially not get rid of stuff you haven’t laid eyes on for decades.
Like in panel two, I had an attractive new young MBA for a boss, and we were discussing some business situation. She said we should bring a third person in so that we could triangulate. Not as exciting as it sounds.
Hubby and I have been playing “let’s pretend we’re moving” for years. We bought this house when we got married in 1974, and the only way we’d ever actually move is if a tree fell on the house.
Procrastination is an art form. I have been practicing it for at least the last 63 years, still haven’t perfected it, but I am working very hard at it for at least 16 hours a day
Are we sure Janis is the one who is pushing hard to get things done? Like Janis, I prefer to look before you toss, but Arlo’s method is certainly quicker.
About 12 yrs ago my oldest daughter and SIL told us they wanted us to move closer to them and actually bought a house that we could rent from them a mile from their house. It turned out that it wasn’t all about being live in sitters for their boys. Yes, we did some babysitting but not a lot considering we still were having to work at least part time. It was actually more about us being nearby in case of the issues of aging. 11 yrs down the road, husband had to have a triple bypass and being a mile instead of 50 miles away was the difference between life and possible death. The daughter was a life saver, literally.

I’m hoping Arlo decides not to move, Janis would not like the experience of tropical storm or worse, since they would be closer to the gulf.
Also, is Mary Lou looking for a baby sitter with the grandparents?

Perhaps this strip will answer this eternal question: What will happen when the irresistible force and the immovable object meet?
I can only hope that the universe does not self-destruct.

Was this strip drawn by someone else? The artwork and dialog are different.
