Knight work is the worst

The balls are ringing for me and my ears …

I’ve never seen a golf ball picker-upper before.

Hope the dents all buff out.

My friend tried opening up a driving range to compete with Top Golf.

Not sure if he pulled it off but I know it took a lot of balls to do it.

So I was at the driving range with my Dad

It was cloudy, so the golf ball was hard to see when it was hit. I said to my Dad “I can’t see the ball because of the cloud cover.” The next ball I hit was painfully bad and rolled onto the grass. My Dad says “There it is”.

I was at the driving range with my grandpa and I met his friend.

Friend: You’ve got a great grandpa. Do you know that?

Grandpa: Great-grandpa! I’m not that old yet.

Some people get all the dirty jobs.

You didn’t notice yourself volunteering, did you, Rod?

Better than getting drilled by a line drive.

Don’t worry, Rodney, these guys are only practicing. The time to get out is when they’re able to actually aim at you.

It amazes me how, in both this and the BC strip, the writers constantly inject modern day events, situations and items which never existed in the time frames of the strip.

So you “VOLUNTEERED” …….. or rather you were volunteered ……. :)

Somebody’s gotta do it!

Golf is all about target practice. Don’t make yourself a target.

Just wait until you see Rodney wash those balls!

40-plus years ago, we had a driving range in our town, and they had a little tractor with a cage that would drive around and scoop up the balls. Of COURSE, you aimed for it when it was out there!

I don’t recall ever seeing Sir Rodney in his work suit.

My hand picker is also my nose picker and my seat picker. I guess it could be my ball picker as well.

Look on the bright side, Rodney, at least it’s protecting you from serious injury. Although the sound of the balls constantly bouncing off that armor can become quite annoying…!

I’m sure the people at the driving range will make every effort to avoid hitting them at Rodney.

I had to do this when my dad was the golf pro at a country club back in the 1990s. I was called off the range while they hit the balls though.

His ears are gonna RING!

Ok, no one has mentioned this yet. If Rod is gathering balls for them because they were out, where did the ones hitting him come from. This could be his 2nd trip I suppose.
