The US Government has become a gerontocracy. Wish we had term limits in the House and Senate.

And the political leadership of the Democrats do not think the other items are relevant.

Simple solution, thirty to thirty- five is the minimum age to run for congress ( thirty-five for President), so, eighty should be the maximum age to remain in congress or even as president. Once a person reaches the age of eighty, the should be ineligible to run again!

No successful organization would tolerant this amount of dysfunction for as long as our broken divided — aided by those who profit from the division/dysfunction — for decades as we have with people, even family members opposing each other. Winner-take-all is for sports/entertainment NOT for deliberative/collaborative/compromising/productive governments/organizations that work for 100% of their constituents. Functionality – free of corrupting self-centered influences —, NOT age is an issue that we need to address

The first two items are at the National Archives Building, not the Capitol.

One of the biggest difficulties is that we have no younger politicians that look ready to ‘step-in’. It takes national recognition and national respect and sadly we have few that meet those simple criteria. In any party.

    Getting tired of the ageism.

Biden is competent at his age. He’s also remarkable in having learned not only from his mistakes to make himself better, but those of others as well. Which is why he accomplished so much in his first two years, with a working congress. The only thing that’s stalled him, is a Republican congress that works for itself and not the American people.

Orange Traitor has been a psychotic sociopath his entire life and has no idea how to work to the benefit of others, and never will. He never learns from his mistakes.

Senate, senior, and senile all come from the same Latin root.

One problem, especially on the GQP side, is that their younger politicians are just as crazy as most of their older ones. One could argue they’re even crazier. (No offense meant to any crazy people who might be reading this!)

It is worrisome, but not as much as the over-ideology in some young Democrats or idiocracy in way too many of the young, and not so young Republicans. I’m in my 70s and have seen the country go through a lot of turmoil more than once, but this is the first time I’ve been seriously concerned over whether it will survive as a true representative Republic.
