It’s amazing the facilities this school has at its disposal. Less than 10% of US high schools have a swimming pool. It’s a major drain on financial resources and upkeep is a maintenance-heavy endeavor for staff, not to mention the inherent danger and potential liability of an accident. And Milford, depending on the story arc du jour, is either a severely cash-strapped public school or a very well equipped facility with the best of everything.

Of all the moronic things that have happened in this strip over the past couple of years, I think naming the high school pool after a Canadian professional wrestler who died of a drug overdose has to take the cake.

(And I had to Google the name to find that out.)

Do I know why were at Milfords pool? No. As usual for this arc there’s no real transition. Yet I don’t care because for whatever reason its named after a wrestler and that’s awesome. Sometimes I’m easy to please

Good thing Milford HS has black and red as school colors. My HS swim team spent an embarrassing season wearing red suits that became see through when wet. Our other color was white…don’t ask.

The last strip had two players having a water fight on the side lines during a game with the cheerleaders commenting how immature Tobi or Toby was Yes, all teams that are well coached have water fights on the side lines during the game.

Whoever is the swimming coach, they need to teach Keri (or whoever the giant student is) how to start off the blocks. With that angle she’s going to lose 10 yards on everyone else before her first stroke. And speaking of strokes, having one is one of the few reasons it’s okay not to read today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
