I had to look up “woo grotto” and the only reference I found is an article from 1992.
“The secluded part of the flagstone swimming pool, the part underneath the waterfall and known as the Woo Grotto, still exists, but one more expects to find rubber duckies than orgies there these days.”
So apparently it’s a hidden cave(rn) behind a waterfall

Apart from the woo grotto, pool table and wet bar, that was our dream home too, and we would add a swimming pool. Oh well, we do have an infrared sauna, crosstrainer and we can dance in our livingroom. And maybe it’s not a home theater as such, but we do have surround sound for our tv when watching movies.
I have (after 30 years of marriage) built almost his dream house. Have an entertainment room that has a row machine and trx in one corner, a pool table in room next door, potential dance area, big screen tv with seating for four couples and instead of a jacuzzi and wet bar, put in a sauna. For a woo grotto, have a nice patio with a pergola that has curtains. Still trying to convince my wife that we can play there though so it hasn’t been properly christened as a woo grotto. But like Arlo, I’m still hopeful and keep bringing it up for consideration.
My parent’s place was an old Victorian house with small closets in each bedroom, as built, plus chifferobes which were added later. It makes me think people back then weren’t clothes horses like they are today.
The British think Santa Claus / Father Christmas has a grotto, which department stores re-create every year as the setting in which he meets customers’ children.
Now that I’ve retired we downsized our house to the point of needing to give away many things. The good news is that we upsized our property to over 3 acres with a pond. Except now I have 3 acres to mow.
We live in a house which had parents and 3 children (adults out of the house by time we bought) living in it. We completely fill it on our own (though we always thought there would more than the 2 of us in it).
Smallest bedroom actually has a bed in it for guests – my niece slept here 3 times and her brother shared it with her once (when they VERY young). It has become my teddy bears’ room. Filled with same – Robert uses the closet in it for his out of season clothing. Next bedroom up (used by both sons of former owner) is our home office. We actually use master bedroom as same.
Living room is where we watch our movies on Friday and Saturday night on the small big tv which completely ruins the 18th century he did after we moved in. Dining room is used same for holidays and also for ironing and such when working at crafts. Kitchen serves normal purpose plus our main spot to watch TV (and me to visit you online). Den behind the kitchen (added by prior owner) is our main studio space.
Unfinished part of basement is used for normal things such as laundry, storage etc plus a general workshop area and leather workshop plus storage of hides and pieces of leather for him. Also metal working tools. Finished part is used for storage of fabric on bolts, mat board, cutting setups for both, and old finished inventory, other craft supplies,HO scale electric train table, and similar. Also indoor Christmas decorations and 4 trees are stored in the basement.
Detached garage is his main wood shop.
Yep, just about big enough for the two of us (and all those bears and some doll friends of theirs).

Wife and my “dream” home was a double wide in front of 10,000 square feet of conditioned warehouse on 10 acres. We have too much stuff

Woo grotto with a nooky bar?

I looked up grotto – basically a structure designed to look like a cave. Could this be a weird name for a man-cave?

Our house is overly large, but pre-pandemic we expected to be hosting activities and occasionally have my wife’s kids and her ex-MIL visit.

A Woo Grotto? That sounds funky. Or grotty.

It was deemed too expensive. I mean, just the cost of that giant mirror alone… ☺
