Sharpen her ice skates. Is that a sexual double entendre?

She seems to have a list of things , but doesn’t want them done.

Trash burned. It’s so bizarre that people used to just burn their trash.

Tough neighborhood.

Poor Charlie Brown. Just wants to earn a few bucks like my brother and I did as kids, so we could augment our allowances and buy candy and toys with money we earned ourselves. I hope he finds some interested customers soon.

Original Patty’s hair should be brown/auburn rather than blonde.

As a figure skater, this made me CRINGE. Any skater will tell you that we are VERY fussy about who sharpens our skates. In fact, many of us drive HOURS to our sharpener because you can’t have Joe-Blow sharpen them. Some skaters will even overnight their skates across the country. I’m lucky, though. Since we have an elite rink (Olympic/National level skaters), we have a great in-house person. Whew!

An all-purpose rejection…

He can do almost anything; you might say he’s a Chuck-of-all-trades.

Charlie just can’t take a hint. I wonder of it’s her mother saying no, or just the girl. Most mothers would’ve come to the door by now if only to check out the kid asking for work.

Besides being persistent, Charlie is really quite multitalented. I wish he’d knock on my door, but I don’t have a cute little girl to answer the door.

What? She wants her house to be filthy and messy?

Wow. Burning trash. That HAS been a long time. And used to be quite common.

At least CB is out hustling a job to earn money. I gotta hand it to him, he’s at least trying to find a bit of work.

I was lucky when I was that age. We had a few elderly neighbors that wanted me to mow their lawns. I always made sure to do a good job like raking the clippings afterwards. Now In this day and age, people hire landscapers/lawn services to do their lawns and they come back every week to mow and trim even if it doesn’t need it. My wife thought our next door neighbor’s lawn service did a great job but I pointed out that they missed some lawn clippings. These guys to a quick job on their motorized mowers but most have baggers attached.
