Back in 1959 I had an orange cat named Twee. He was the cat from Hell. He would hide behind doors and jump out and claw my legs. I was terrified of him, but I still loved him to death.
Currently having a black cat and two orange cats (18 mo brothers), I can confirm. I do agree with the “brains like a carrot” observation as the two are total Bro’s as well as brothers.
I have an orange cat (with soft brown stripes. She looks like a cat dipped in caramel). She’s an absolute sweetheart to me…………….or maybe I’M the Devil and that she’s working with me. Whatever, I’m cool with it!
We had an orange tabby, the holistic vet said she was high-strung even for a cat. We had to put her on prozac for everyone’s safety. Three cats and a dog in the house, she only liked one of the older cats and when he died of old age, she had no animal friends in the house. She liked me, tolerated my son and daughter, did not like my husband. She definitely was evil some days.
My Orange cat thinks he is the Supervisory Cat in Charge of Everything. I amend that with The Little Stinker. My black cat is just a big boy, likes scritches, but don’t pick him up. He is mostly an indoor feral cat (there are 3 of them).
The 2 orange boys we’ve had were the sweetest cats, and one was the kitty version of Einstein. So, so SMART. Our little calico gal, on the other hand… Tiny minion o’ the devil, LOL!
So what does it say about you—asking for a friend obv—if everywhere youve lived some 1-3 orange cats adopt you the human to follow and protect? And you can tell them, be home by 10pm and you look at your porch at 9:58pm to see them sitting there in their marmalade gladness….
Currently owned by a black cat – she’s a real sweetheart! Previously owned by an orange creamsicle cat – she was a major psycho! Also fairly dumb, which is why I can see her (and orange cats generally) being recruited for evil.

I’m not convinced orange cats are smart enough to being league with anything. Beautiful animals, brain like a carrot.

The most evil cat I can recall was actually orange, but he was very lovably evil.

The Vikings really liked orange cats and may be responsible for their spread in Europe. And they worked for the devil, at least according to some.

I’ve had an orange cat, and currently have a black cat. Both adorable. But the comic did make me LOL

My only gripe with Sarah’s Scribbles is that there aren’t more frequent scribbles. More scribbles, please! Love Sarah’s stuff.

We presently have a big black floofy Norwegian Forest Cat and a tuxedo cat who when in the loaf position looks all black. Best kitties ever.

I think Chihuahuas must also be in league with the devil, of any color.
