Heights that pass in the night?

My son and I have been exactly the same height since he grew to adult height. He rounds up to 6’0". I round down to 5’11". I’ll be officially measured at my annual physical next month. Maybe he’ll finally be taller than me.

I use a cereal box to measure height, because it has a right angle and it’s not hard like metal.

Ah, the shrinkage of old age! Can no longer reach things on top shelves. Feh!

Where Opal shows a new way to measure the slowly but surely closing of the generation gap…

I’ve lost just under 2 inches in the last 10yrs. Since I seem to be shrinking quite a bit faster than anyone else and I’m only 40 i blame the 7 herniated disks, degenerative disk disease and spinal surgeries. God knows how short I’ll be if I make it to the Pickle’s age lol

That’ll be when Nelson hits that teen growth spurt!

I have the height problem, I am too short for my weight!

I’ve lost 1 1/2" over the years. Makes me wonder where it went to.

Not in cartoon world……… Everyone stays the SAME.

Some people that say “you and me” state it doesn’t matter. However if you expand the sentence and show them what they have essentially said, they get why it is wrong. Still get it wrong afterwards, but at least they understand better. For instance “You and me need a biscuit” expands to “You need a biscuit and me need a biscuit”. Even sounds wrong.

Will there be a test later? Feel like I’m back in school with worst subject.

I have one grandson who’s already passed me and another on the way past. The rest might not make it unless I shrink a lot. (My grandsons are in their late teens and early 20’s. I’m 5’10", down from 5’11")

Meeting somewhere in the middle doesn’t bode well for Nelson unless Earl slims down.

Now lets measure Opal’s expanding waistline.

Earl gets shorter bit by bit because Opal keeps cutting him down.

Won’t be meeting in the “middle” exactly as Nelson will be doing most of the heavy lifting.

Nuts, I was counting on gaining a couple of inches of height to make my weight more reasonable. :)

Ha! Maybe being frozen in time on the comics pages on such a bad thing!

Grandpa Green looked at me and said, “You must be about 6 ft 2.”

“Nope, 5 ft 10 and 3/4.”

He looked a little sad. He realized he must have shrunk if I was taller than him at that and that short.

Howzcome that Nelson is never at home?

You mean like the middle of nowhere, Grandpa?

I guess now, that I’m completely confused (of course now-a-days, doesn’t take much) and starting to get a headache ……. I guess I’ll go to the next strip …… :)

Let’s hope so, since I hope Nelson will grow.

That’s what makes Earl so lovably real. Get a life.

Was told by my VA clinic recently I’m 5’6" now instead of 5’9.5". So I asked my physical therapist doc where I work out, she said it’s true. She stood next to me and OMg, she’s 5’9 and I was a lot shorter. I’m very sad! I was always taller than most girls and women. Just learned that there’s no shortage of thing happening in my 60s.
