Panel 1) Spuds expression over Amelias hypothetical situation OR comin’ up with a rap to give Amelia the flower to.Panel 2) Super cool end of the stone wall thingy Rose is leaning against.Panel 3) Even the flower did a double take on that info as well!
There are theories that it originally referred to a large cannon mounted atop a fortress’s battlements, or King Charles I who was deposed and executed (thus the reference to the king’s horses and men).
Humpty Dumpty was actually a canon. It wasn’t until Lewis Carol’s Through the Looking Glass that he was depicted as an egg and pop culture did the rest.

She’s quite right, the belief that HD was an egg was due to Tenniel’s illustrations.

Do you think the king’s men might have been able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again if they hadn’t let the horses try first?

I wrote a prequel to clarify it. Humpty Dumpty, the prequel, ©2023 JB Claussen – On a hill in a quaint and quiet place, Lived a fragile egg, with a round and smooth face. Humpty Dumpty, his name we’ll bestow, From whence he hailed, we’ll never know.
