Well, add me to the injured list. On Friday I fell. I’m usually pretty good at catching myself, but I was a sidewalk that was slightly downhill & fell forward. Easn’t even able to twist enough to land on my butt (it’s pretty well padded) as I often do it I can’t stop the fall. Fell on my knee. I was pretty sure it wasn’t broken, as I could use it, bend it etc, even though it did hurt a bit. It helped the pain when I did walk a little, but I still decided Sunday to have it checked out to make sure I didn’t have a hairline fracture. My hip was also bothering me, but it seemed more like it was because of the way I was walking. Had a friend drive me to the ER & x-rays done of hip & knee. No broken bones in either. The leg of course looks terrible. They gave me a brace to put on when I do steps not my normal amount, but short hourly walks to keep it limber. They also suggested I use it to sleep, but I can’t get it as smooth and tight as they had it & it hurt, so I took it off and used the heating pad. Now, I just have to amuse myself for a bit doing things that are done sitting. Really exciting!
What was Chesney thinking???? I feel beat up this morning after 5 falls yesterday and a grueling hike. First got my foot caught in the vacuum cleaner cord and went down hard on my shoulder which still hurts, then fell 4 times coming down from this steep hike. 3 times rocks slipped out under my feet, the fourth I just slipped downhill on dirt likely because I was really tired. Right hand and wrist got scrapped up on a boulder and bled for awhile until I picked up some clean snow to stop it. I carry a first aid bag but it was in the bottom of my pack and I just wanted to get down to my car. Very tired today after a lousy night’s sleep.
To all my friends who fell, I wish you speedy healing. Friend’s dog and o1ne of my cats try to trip me regularly. They learn when I step on them to stay out of my way
Well my BIG news is my calico cat that disappeared 2 years ago (I figured a coyote got it),Showed up on my front porch yesterday morning, fat, unkempt with fur lumps, and starving. I ran into the house, grabbed a can of cat food, dumped it on a little plate on the picnic and watched it eat it ravenously in about 30 seconds. Then no sign of it later. This morning, a repeat. I had to go to PT, then went to tractor supply for a tarp and got some dry cat food. Put it out about one and now it’s night and it hasn’t been touched. I’ll see what happens tomorrow morning.
Yeah, a truck named Lily! You think Chesney would have learned by now not to mess with her royal majesty, wouldn’t you? Guess not. On another note, saw five chickadees, a spotted towhee, a junco, and a varied thrush while out walking today.

The city’s most pompous and self- indulgent cat? You should be proud, Lily, there’s a lot of competition for that title.

My first thought was Annie’’s vet bill. I hope that cat with a death wish doesn’t empty her college funds.

That’s the last time I will make curry chicken with Goya coconut cream and offset the sweetness by adding (lots) of red pepper flakes.
