In particular when “out for dinner” is at Glady’s. For the joy of Brutus.

I partially agree with Mother Gargle! gasp

Ma Gargle’s meal is sucking somebodies blood from their carotid artery. Doesn’t make her a bad person!

And Brutus wishes she’d eat out at an actual restaurant, even if it’s only a fast dump.

Too many lazy so an so’s that WON’T cook a decent meal for themselves or a family.

I’m with her.

I think I’ll reservation judgement on this.

The best thing to make for dinner are reservations.

I’ve a cousin who always says its cheaper to eat out than to cook in. I’ve never found that to be true, but I’m going to enjoy eating out for lunch, today.

She always finds a way to go out. By hook or by crook.

With Gladys’ and Mother Gargle’s cooking, it’s likely after to go out to dinner.

When you cook like Lady Gargoyle, that’s the only sane option.

Great! You old battle axe, go out to dinner, we’ll see you next time you’re in town.

My mother in-law would pay every time we went out to eat if you would let her, miss her.

just wait till she has to pay the bill, she may have a different opinion by then. :J

We haven’t been out to eat in so long, we’ve forgotten what it’s like.

Y’all need to get a copy of “The Boy Scouts Handbook.” Their recipe for beans and weenies is to die for.

And I’m very sure that she is excellent at choosing the most expensive restaurants in the area, as long as somebody other than her is picking up the tab. She most definitely knows how to give good headaches. Her attributes in those reguards knows no bounds…..

He: “what’s for dinner!” She: “Reservations. Grab your coat and wallet.”

From what I’ve heard Gladys, you should burn that book, I’d probably taste better.

There’s nothing better than going to lunch/ dinner! LOL

Mine is Notes From a Scandinavian Kitchen by Florence and Morrie Ekstrand, which introduces each section with stories about their lives in rural Minnesota during the Depression and from their grandparents’ immigrant experiences. I don’t remember how many times I read how her brothers would tell her the outhouse was where the first homesteaders on the farm lived until they proved up their claim before I realized that one of them was Uncle Ernie – married to my grandmother’s sister Edna- who WOULD tell somebody something like that.

Well, this is only the second time in my memory that I’ve agreed with that woman.

The only thing she knows how to make for dinner is reservations

we occasionally go out for lunch when we’re in the mood for really awful food…

A friend asked me one time why I had four copies of The Joy of Cooking. Had to explain they were different editions and each had information/recipes not reproduced in the others.

Last time I went to my ophthalmologist I didn’t take my therapy dog. I was reprimanded and told not to forget again. (I had taken her several times in the past, but for the last appointment my dog was just sleeping so hard that I went without her.) I went today, took my handy beagle along with me. My dog of course greeted everyone who wanted to see her while we waited. When the doctor came into the exam room, she was so excited that she almost cried. She used to have a therapy dog herself. She had a staff member take her picture holding my dog! She said seeing my dog totally made her day. Now I have to go back in 3 months because I might be developing a problem. I asked if she just wanted to see my dog again. She said I have to take my dog, but I have to be there too. I was also advised that if I am ever near her office and my dog is in the car I am to stop in. Or else. As far as cooking, I like reservations a few times a week and cook at home for the rest of the time. I can’t eat a full restaurant meal, so it’s a good thing I like leftovers.

And thus, we know why Gladys’ cooking is subpar. The leaf never falls far from the tree.
