It’s OK, because that 9pm kiss is followed by (in the immortal words of Martin Mull) “a half-hour’s heaven, and eight great hours of sleep.” Pluggers are friskier than you think.

I kissed my wife at 9AM this morning at the “Sign of Peace” at church.

Oops, Rick must have celebrated too much and missed getting Jan 1st cartoon posted.

We were asleep until the fireworks and the celebratory gunfire started at midnight and continued until about 1, then sporadically until about 2:15 or so, I was finally able to drift back off to sleep.

Bear gone hibearnating after big kiss? No new Pluggers yet for 1st day of 2024?

Why is Pluggers missing from my email feed since Dec. 31?

Today is Jan. 2, 2024 and Pluggers has not been updated? Staff on vacation?

I am a night person and over the decades (especially since he quit his job in his 50s) husband has gradually adjusted to being one also – though he falls asleep an hour or more before I do – I watch TV in bed while he sleeps. So staying up to midnight is no big deal we stay up later than that every night.

For New Year’s Eve we watch the ball drop in NYC (live in suburban NYC – but even my sister who lives in Manhattan does not go to see same in person) on TV. When I was young it would involve the tonight show with Johnny Carson to see it, now on a number of channels.

Shortly after midnight his sister will call him from the party at her country club which she and her family are attending. (This includes her younger daughter currently aged 12, but she has gone with them for years.) She will have to show him photos of all of them and how fancy they are dressed and of the place. Never sure if she thinks to call him to actually wish a happy new year or because she wants to show off where she is and how expensive it is.

My sisters and I will exchange emails during the night or the next day.
