    Winking and whistling are very important skills when you’re young. I never could figure out how to teach my children to whistle. I don’t think either of them can to this day.

    As you recall from the novel, Quasimodo was left at the door of the Paris Cathedral of Our Lady, to be found and taken in on Quasimodo Sunday, so called because the chant for that day begins with the word “Quasimodo.” Alice is demonstrating how she winks “in this manner.”

    This strip is on a 5 year repeat. If a strip is missing, you can see the missed strip by using the calendar under the strip. Choose the year 5 prior and the date that is the same day-of-the-week as the missing strip. In this case, the 12/16/18 strip is the same as the missed strip:
