My Bride does not care to celebrate the coming of a New Year. To her it’s just another reminder that we’re getting old. Myself, I want to know how our story plays out and this is just the next installment.

I could just care less. I will be in bed by 1900 and get up at 0345 to start my early morning, 1st day of 2024 walk. Yawn! I am tired already.

Happy New Year to my favorite couple. I would pray for another 25 years, but J.J. knows best.

A long tradition for my wife and I is to kiss in the new year, starting with Tokyo (14 hours ahead), then Perth (13 hours ahead), then Laos (12 hours ahead), etc. And be sure to throw in the odd 1/2 hour zones along the way! If we don’t male it to the local midnight, we’ve certainly made up for it by then.

Oh dear! This is not a good omen. Wait! Unless it means you are getting the bad stuff out of the way right now and the rest of the year will be awesome! Let’s go with that, instead.

Right now it is 1:25 am on January 9. Staying up past midnight is nothing to us as we do every night.

A couple of years way back when we were early in our marriage we went to one or another Chinese restaurants for a New Year’s party they had. Mostly we just stay home and watch the ball drop. (My sister lives in Manhattan and even she does NOT go to see the ball drop.)
