We have a friend, you probably do too, that uses so much Botox that we can’t help but stare at her unnatural expressions. I’d much rather see the wrinkles
The elderly provide context for the young. The young see their future selves and can learn about their own history. They can learn of the paths that elders followed and get a hint of the potentials in their plans. They can look in the mirror and envision what they will look like when they reach that age.
it’s a way to say it…after all, from what I saw in my life so far at 44 years old, it also shows how much you had to fight to still be here and be who you are.
When I would get home from work and see my middle school child, I could always tell her what she ate after school. She drove herself nuts trying to figure out how I knew. There was always evidence on her shirt of anything she ate at all. I finally told her when she went to high school. It’s not just some older people who drop food.

At least she hasn’t had plastic surgery to remove her wrinkles.

…wash your face, Nelson. It tells way too much.

Every wrinkle is like a ring in a tree, tells how old you are.

I once asked my grandmother why she had so many wrinkles. She said each one is for a different time your father drove me nuts.

I often wonder, looking in the mirror, how I got to be the same age as old people.

At 80, I’ve got more wrinkles than a shar pei due to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, not to say incompetent financial advisors.

Young kids wear food on their faces. Old folks wear food on their laps or on the floor. Just ask doggie. He knows where to lick.

Just look at an old person’s front of their shirt, and you can tell what they had for dinner.
