Ever heard of a gym? I know this was drawn 40 years ago and gyms were expensive back then but having a dentist husband you’d be able to afford it and get rid of your entourage.
I " house walk" every day. 6500 steps. Been doing it for a couple years now. And yeah I’ll be 86 in a week. Here, it’s either too cold or waaaay too hot to walk outside.
That’s how I started. Even though it wasn’t slippery I thought I’d see how I would do. When I got up to 30 minutes I went outside. I kept increasing it in increments eventually after about a year I get up to 5 miles.
For Better or Worse seems a lot like M*A*S*H. Both should have been retired a long time ago but their respective syndicates just keep running them ad nauseam.
On ice, I’ve found it safer to run than walk. When running, all your weight is squarely over each foot as it lands. When walking, my foot touches down in front of my centre of gravity, and a fall is more likely.
I’m pretty sure my upstairs neighbors do this. At the very least they’re doing aerobics at the ungodly hour of 8 AM. I’ve more or less gotten used to it so I usually sleep through it, but it still does tick me off when it wakes me up. That’s apartment style living, I know, but I wouldn’t have bought my place if they had been there doing that before I was a resident.
Really tired of people who read this comic solely to dump on Elly. Today’s strip reminds me of the organization Girls on the Run, so well done, Elly, Liz, April, Farley, & Edgar!

Oprah’s “entourage” is attracted to her wealth and fame—not her exercise routine.

Hard to tell if that face in the last frame is of a man or a woman!!

It’s good to be able to exercise anywhere!

I think it’s more about not going out in cold, slippery weather.

The pup is following Farley, not Elly. And Farley looks impossibly young. Liz will take cellphone videos with the title—“My Goofy Mom”

Poor Farley is the only one who cannot hover run like the Pattersons and the puppy.

When Arthur Newton couldn’t run outdoors, he would run in place with high knee lifts.

Farley and Edgar can breathe a sigh of relief. They can now go to South Korea.
