If environmentalists were serious, they would take on the plastic in the stores, and I don’t mean the wonderful bags. I mean, the plastic that has sealed everything and anything – you need a electric saw to open some of that stuff. Go back to wood products for bags – fine; go back to glass for liquids, etc. but this plastic wrap is a huge waste. Go back to checkers and more clerks and staff in the store; bring back enforcing the laws, etc. and maybe some of this cultural stealing will go away… but like Abraham Lincoln said, “Their culture will destroy America!” He was right – how many know that quote… Google it if you don’t believe me!
One of my biggest [or smallest] complaints is about the inside seals on pharmaceutical and food bottles [e.g., vitamins, ketchup, spice bottles] that don’t have a tab that you can actually get a hold of.
I don’t have a problem with regular ziplock bags, but the bags some frozen foods come in are terrible. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t bother rezipping them; I just fold the bag tops over & clip them shut with a metal sporing clip. That works just fine!
The latest hazard is the “Child Safe” packaging for coin cells, the thin, flat batteries for many electronic devices. Their package can only be opened with heavy-duty scissors and you need to cut right up close to the battery to break the double plastic wrap around it.

Simple don’t use resealable bags ! Use plain bags and coated reuseable ties ;-)

And certain brands of plastic wrap never tear off cleanly along the serrated edge.

Or opening resealable bags so they don’t ruin the resealability.

I usually just cut the sealed part off and put the de-re-sealed bag into a Ziplock. Saves a lot of trouble.

I love the resealable perforated bags that some vegetables come in.

Resealable bags are great…until you rip one side off the the bag while trying to open it right after resealing it!

I struggle most with that semi-hard plastic packaging that needs metal shears just to crack but I think most folks fight with those..
