My dad had a collection of hats when I was growing up, including a real fez. I always thought they were cool though none of his hats fit my fat head even as a pre-teen ( can you say “triple x?”).
I bought a Fez while in Morrocco many years ago and then found a smoking jacket a couple of years later in a thrift store in Raleigh, NC thinking of the possibilities for costume parties in the future. A couple of years after that I answered the door wearing both on a lark. It was the Tupperware lady dropping off merch. for my wife. At least she did after several stunned moments. Clothes do make the man. My wife would spend the rest of the day breaking out in spontaneous laughter whenever the thought of the event crossed her mind. She told that story for years.

Any time I see a Fez, it reminds me of Pike Place Market in the early seventies. You could get all sorts of Addams family ephemera there.

Love Hammies hat on the snowman.

There may have been some magic in that hat that Hammy found. For when he placed it on his head, he began to talk around.

The snow creatures posture is hilarious, just imagining it’s gait as it begins to move.

Blobby the Snowman was a floppy happy troll …
With 2 crooked arms and a carrot nose … and 2 eyes made out of coal
…
There must have been some magic in that old red fez Ham found …
For when Ham placed it on his head, he began to make a sound …
