Today’s strip reminds me of Eull Gibbons, who was one of my heroes when I was a teenager. Gibbons was famous for his Grape Nuts commercial (“Did you ever eat a pine tree?” {Check it out on YouTube}). I came home from school one day and my dad asked me if I’d hear about Gibbons dying. I hadn’t of course as this was long before cellphones everywhere. I asked Dad what the cause was and Dad said, “Natural causes”. I told Dad I didn’t find that to be a funny joke. So we waited until the half hour to hear the news round-up on the radio and it wasn’t a joke.
“OH MY ARBOR DAY!!!!!!! Call a tree surgeon immediately!! Quick start the filler, stop the SAP from flowing. DOWN WITH TREE-BITERS!!!!!!! Oh, Charles Brown how could you????” -——- OR “There goes Charlie Brown’s cover of a tree hugger!” (Pick your headline —-I blame the pressure of climate change demonstrations)
>Greenpeace rolls up< “THAT TREE SPECIES IS ENDANGERED, PUNK!!!” >19 men and women dressed in hippie attire leap out and beat him with signs until he falls unconcious<
Well, I guess at some point of time beyond the Peanuts end Chuck will marry Lucy to mortify his flesh and soul, and become a mass murderer of kite eating trees

Reminds me of the phrase, If a wood chuck could chuck wood, how much wood, would a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood.

Charlie Brown’s teeth are very powerful.
This strange arc has begun with a very memorable peanuts moment.

Robert Nowall Premium Member 12 months ago
One wonders why he didn’t try this on some of his, er, “friends.”
jagedlo 12 months ago
CB proved that he wasn’t wishy-washy all the time!
F-Flash 12 months ago
Charlie may need to come up with another nickel & pay a visit to Lucy and talk about biting a tree. How does that make you feel CB?
Neo Stryder 12 months ago
Chuck’s teeth must be made of a sturdier stuff.
uniquename 12 months ago
One more bite like that Charlie, and you could take the whole tree down and get your kite back.
bbenoit 12 months ago
“Honey, the kid’s outside, and he’s biting the trees. Are you going to do something?”
Decepticomic 12 months ago
Is this Charlie’s most unhinged moment?
Darryl Heine 12 months ago
A human taking a bite from a tree doesn’t taste good.
Ellis97 12 months ago
He actually did it. He bit the kite eating tree. That must’ve been really painful.
SquidGamerGal 12 months ago
Ooh, you shouldn’t have done that…

Good to see CB fighting back.
