Evidently some horses used to be able to do that. The last known public display of this ability was seen in the movie Wizard Of Oz.

He’s pretty good at blending in … but if he was really the world’s greatest introvert, he would move to be behind the tree.

Elephants also use camouflage. They paint their toe nails red to hide in cherry trees. We know it works because nobody has ever seen an elephant in a cherry tree.

I bought a chameleon at the state fair once. All he ever did was change from greenish to brownish. Never any red, blue, or orange.
