I had to read it a couple of times, emphasizing different words each time, in order to make sense of the phrase “make a dog’s breakfast”. When the image made me laugh, I knew I had it. Then I poured my first cup of the day.
Thanks Frazz and Jef. Learned a new one this morning, al las 0520. But then again, not the first time I have learned something reading Frazz. (BTW I have read every comic since day one 2 Apr 2001, twice). Thank you Jef! Great cartooning in every-way.
If the kid seems to have set a standard for her reports, it looks like she didn’t reach it this time. Next time she likely will make a better choice from the list and put more into it.
I really enjoyed students like her — the self-starters. Most years there were far too few of them, about 1 to 4 in a hundred were naturals. Occasionally there was one that was ‘late’ getting to that point, but when something triggered the impulse, he/she was truly amazing to watch.
I remember looking at something I wrote and got a couple awards for when I was in school, and being shocked at the errors I thought I should/would have caught at the time.
I was in a movie, and on-screen with Jennifer Garner, in 2007. Whenever I see it (which isn’t often), I don’t cringe — I remember very well the experience, and enjoy it just as much even years later.

Do American school children actually use the phrase “dog’s breakfast?” I’m not saying that they don’t, I really don’t know.

Frazz, the comic strip, posted an unrealistic scenario — one not common in Michigan elementary schools.

If so, they’re more literate than most students-and have visited England.

You cringe because your parts change, so you can’t lie to yourself. You once played Romeo. Now you’re playing Friar Lawrence.

99% of creative types will tell you that they hate anything they made more than five years ago, and the other 1% is lying.

If he hears one of his songs on the radio or streaming, he thinks, “ca-ching!” Royalties add up.

I wonder if Phoebe Cates enjoys seeing the swimming pool scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High?

Paul McCartney continues playing 60 year old songs in concert. The fans love it and have made him a very wealthy man. I’d say he has no qualms at all

Judging by all the interviews I’ve seen, most actors don’t watch their own movies.

Upvotey for dog’s breakfast. Last time I heard that was a few months ago in Abbotsford, BC.
