Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I’m pretty sure someone mentioned it earlier, but may I refer readers to the early March 1989 “Calvin and Hobbes” arc where Calvin sent away for a flying beanie as an example of how to do this sort of thing competently?
Ed’s right in a way. If you’re waiting for something from delivery companies and need it sooner, they will deliver it at their leisure. However, if it’s anything that can wait, it will come in as short a time as possible. It just seems this way – not that it actually is.
A good pay-off for this arc would be tomorrow we see the UPX drivers in their break room with one of them bragging about how many seniors he had lined up at their front doors with one hand hovering over the doorknob.

“I guess what they say is true . . . . a joke stretched out over three panels . . . . never amuses.”

I guess UPX is the same as waiting for a single punchline this week.

We were cautioned that nothing would happen in this strip today. As the soothsayer said, “Beware the Idle of March!”

Much like the jokes in this “storyline” never arrive.

Always thought that was a watched pot, but I guess the principle is the same.

Crank opens door and finds one of those “You weren’t home. We’ll try to deliver again tomorrow” stickers stuck on the door.
Mopman 12 months ago
Yes, I predicted it! Still waiting to the truck to arrive. In other predictions, I nailed the sun rising in the East today.

OR if and when it does arrive, (promised between 9AM and 10PM) it will get there about 9:55PM - in my experience :)

Did you open the door to check? It may be there already.

How many trucks of stuff from Beans End did Cranky order?

A continually watched for delivery takes forever and a day. Just try and figure a Prime delivery drivers route.
