My brothers and I liked different vegetables. Mom rotated through our tastes so we at least got vegetables one day out of three. I think forcing kids to eat something they hate is dumb. Do you make and eat food you hate?
My kiddo goes back and forth on which vegetables she likes – we just try to keep a variety of those small microwave packets so we’re not out too much if she doesn’t care for something.
Don’t get too excited about it. My eldest LOVED her vegetables — until she was about four. From that point on, the only vegetable we could get her to eat was french fries.
My kids liked my vegetables, you have to know how to prepare it, sauces, parmesan, mix meat in with it, etc. For instance, spinach. They about puked the first time they had the school’s canned, yuck! They were used to it fixed with eggs and spinach and Romano cheese, steamed (and fresh).
One thing that was really difficult was trying to cook with small children around, complaining “I don’t like that!”
When my infant son had difficulty nursing I teasingly shook my finger saying, “You’d better like my cooking!” Now he raves about my cooking to the point of insisting I should have my own restaurant.
We have baby photos of my older daughter hypnotized by the carrot stick in her hands. Her sister on the other hand would condescend to eat one vegetable at supper, e.g. one pea, one green bean… When she went out on her own, she found she really likes all vegetables, as long as they are raw.

When a toddler, my grandniece loved veggies and fruits. She has grown into a beautiful, healthy woman.

And in another year or so, her tastes will change and then she will be selective of what she likes and doesn’t like. Been there X3.

When I was growing up, we always had boiled or canned vegetables, and when I got older, I found out that was why I didn’t like them.

I never had any trouble with vegetables except brussels sprouts, and I’m okay with them now.

Don’t count successes and failures until they finish school and go out into the world. We had reasons to doubt before then but they ended up great.

Mine loved veggies until he went to school and discovered how terrible they could be when overcooked. After that the daily battle began.
