Plus the supermarket shopping cart rustlers always move my car to a different stall while I shop. Once I could not find it anywhere. I called the wife and she said it is home in the garage. She reminded me that I walked to the store…..
That’s a little like when the weatherman says there’s a 70% chance of rain, he means there’s a 100% chance of rain falling on 70% of the city …
This is why I have a Shopping List app on my smart phone. The only application I have found since I started working w/ computers in 1961 that delivers on the slogan .. “Computers – making your life faster, easier and PAPERLESS!”
Have you ever encountered a case of where someone had over 100% recall about something? … where they “remembered” something in a way that it didn’t actually happen?
Must have been to the grocery store because a male Plugger always remembers what he goes to the hardware store for.. Unfortunately, a few extra things come home with us.
My spouse figured out how to deal with shopping issues many years ago — I would make the list and he would come back with most of the things — some he ’couldn’t find’, some might be the wrong flavor, size or brand. And he would have a bag or two of other stuff that caught his eye — donuts, candy, new flavored chips, gadgets, etc. So, I do the shopping and he has learned not to ask when I return, “did you get any . . .?” If it didn’t get put on the list, it doesn’t get purchased.
I keep a list on my refrigerator, run out of something? Write it down! I do mine in order of the store: Produce, East, Bulk, Frozen/Dairy, West…it helps!

I, on the other hand, have a perfect memory — for the things that I don’t want to remember.

I have five steps from my couch to the kitchen, and half the time I can’t remember why I’ve stepped into the kitchen!

If I have a 50-50 chance, I get it wrong 90% of the time.

This is why we have those guys roaming the aisles with a cellphone pressed to their ear for “remote control shopping” by their wives.

It doesn’t help to leave a list on your phone, if you never remember to check.
