I was in a medical journal in the 80’s. I had chronic appendicitis for 6 months. My baffled internist and OB/Gyn were looking for my problem together when they found it shriveled up. Internist was excited she got to write a paper!

For some people it’s only a matter of time before the word “syndrome” is added to their last name.

“That’s textbook,” is what the assisting med student said, as the doctor was examining nerve damage, after I broke my C6 and C7.

Speaking from personal experience, don’t go to a teaching hospital if you have something unusual. I must have been shown to 30 medical students and residents and should have been out of there in 2 days instead of 4.

Funniest comic strip ever. Both the artwork and joke lines are refreshingly brutal. This strip “Herman” has no equal.

I had the mumps back in 1981. My neck was so swollen that my doctor took photos and an article on them was published in a medical journal. The photos were also later published in medical text books. Not sure what the fuss was all about.

There was a convict who donated his body to science. It was sliced up, from head to toe and pictures were taken every 1mm. The pictures were turned into a movie that was shown in medical classes

I had a cat who ended up in a textbook. She had a large hernia but was otherwise healthy. The vet surgeon who repaired the hernia took photos and documented her case for a book.

Yeah, they’re going to use your X-rays in a textbook, but they aren’t going to pay you any royalties for using them and they’re still going to charge you for taking them.
