/// Pierre T., Chevalier de Bayard

was a French knight and true superstar.

    Called “the knight without fear;”

    had in battle no peer;

    unreproachable— set a high bar.

/// Loyal, moral and wise, tales relate.

Even enemies viewed him as great.

    The epitome of

    selfless chivalric love,

(you would think he’d be easy to hate.)

/// In this painting Boyard famously

displayed how generous he could be.

    Badly wounded, Pierre,

    needed medical care.

He was nursed in their home by these three.

/// The mother with gold coins had paid

him a ransom to come to their aid

    and provide them protection.

    As he fought off infection,

her two daughters sang, charmed him and prayed.

/// Healed, he heard of a nearby attack.

Before leaving, in thanks he gave back

    to the daughters the gold,

    and Bayard was extolled

for largess by their Mom dressed in black.

I put my heart into this omlette. It’s what’s for breakfast and no amount of pleading will excuse you and then we’re going to slam.

    Bayard’s generosity

    Paste (including the quote marks)

"Category:1827 oil on canvas paintings in France" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string PDUT1733, and click its link for info and links that point to more info (perhaps best viewed using the Google Chrome browser, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) about this large painting, along with the museum’s Description

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3298 (April 3, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the info about this artist I used to point to here. Only work by him used here so far.

One thing may be said for Bayard:/

    No damsel will Bayard discard:/

He will make room for Ma/

    In a ménage a trois:/

    In adversity, Bayard stays hard..

A carwash company had discount tokens stamped. The problem was that they worked in any quarter slot. We would get angry calls from all over to come and redeem the counterfeit coins.

Who will later attend a ball and leave a glass slipper behind.
