Look, they didn’t even know how women got pregnant back then. They knew sex had something to do with it but were unclear on the mechanics. They didn’t figure it out until 1875. So cut them some slack on not being geniuses about hygiene.
the world used to really suck, with each passing generation we suck a little bit less, but make no mistake, the next generation will be able to point out just how much we really suck.
By the way, I wonder what kind of present Shark received from Kenny. Last time we saw him, he was hanging off the fire escape balcony. So don’t leave us hanging there as well! LOL
People smelled, didn’t have running water and convenient shopping malls. They had other things on their minds, like survival. I know, if they knew about the importance of washing regularly there would have been better but now the market is flooded with wasteful product that have harmful additives in them.
My high school history teacher used to tell us about the constitutional convention and how it wasn’t as romantic as we like to think. It was Philadelphia in mid July, hot as blazes, they wore thick wool clothing, and they had to keep the windows closed so that people outside wouldn’t hear. Couple that with no deodorant, and you had probably quite an unpleasant gathering.

You can certainly tell they are slathered in deodorant and cologne. And everyone in the room can tell because the smell makes the eyes water.

Yeah, cologne or perfume used to cover up the smell back then..

You’d be amazed at how messed up American history really is.

If they could see and hear a lot of the stuff that we watch and listen to (and often expose our kids to), I’m sure they’d be pretty grossed out!

Yes, yes; my mother made me take a bath every six months, whether I needed one or not!

I’d say that is gross. Chemical allergies are a thing (and a growing one).
