According to the statistics black guys love killing other black guys.

More than half the murders in the entire republic each year are that exact scenario.

The problem we have with law enforcement in the US is that the mentality that says if people think they’re going to get beat up or put in jail they won’t commit crimes. We will never punish our way out of crime; the people who make the rules can’t comprehend the mentality that either doesn’t consider the consequences or don’t care – prison, for some people, is part of life.

Good education and opportunities are the way to short-circuit the crime carousel.

Why does the left think that being held accountable for the actions they’ve chosen to take is “oppression”?

Progressivism, i.e. leftism has created its immense share of a-holes. Witness the protesters blocking bridges, roads, and airports. These a-holes have the right to peaceably assemble, but they have no right to beat up police officers and disrupt other peoples activities.

Most police department only require a GED and a driver’s license for new recruits. If they “fear for their life” they are allowed to shot / kill a person with autism / bi-polar / dementia / on drugs while a nursing aide in a nursing home or state hospital get years in prison for slapping a patient.

Hey Ted, more cops are killed by brown people than whites. They also do most of the killing in America. Stop covering for them.

The problem with law enforcement in this Nation is the preference given in hiring military veterans. The skills required in the military have no relationship to the skills needed for law enforcement! Too many police departments are run like an occupying force rather than agencies that “serve and protect”!

Ok, this one is good. It has me truly laughing and the solution is great. However, I think they will solve the demographics crisis in the good old-fashioned way. They will find a way to co-opt a repressed group by putting them higher on the pecking order than all the other repressed groups.

It seems that Ted has a deep understanding of the rectal orifice. Perhaps it takes one to know one? Is he also a close associate of Donald Trump? The Donald has proven himself to be a flaming rectal orifice many times.

My brother in law was a cop in a small Texas town. He was a bully in high school to the point of exhibiting psychological issues in the stuff that he did, and he was able to turn that hobby into a profession by joining the local police department.

Our police should be carefully chosen, required to wear cameras, and any complaints should be reviewed by a citizen’s committee, elected by the citizens of the community. I can assure you he would have never been a cop, because he would never have applied for the job under those rules. I said he was evil, I didn’t say he was stupid.

America is not running low, there is no shortage. They’ve just chose other professions to pursue, like conservative politics and comic pundits.

I don’t think we are running low on a-holes as much as there are so many guns out there that people look sidelong at others and wonder if they will get shot for opening their mouth about anything.

Having an elected citizen’s committee is like having elected judges, the majority riding roughshod over the minority.

I know and have known many police of many races. By and large they are all good people who attend and support their church, love their families, and look for ways to reach out to the community. But, I have observed that even the most kind and responsible of police officers can behave down to the lowest of quality. Sometimes it’s just a matter of the mob effect on police as they seek to bring a potential miscreant to bear. And, yes, there are those that prejudge a situation and potential law breaker by race.

I don’t know Ted, still seems like there are still lots of a-holes about. And all this campus ruckus might well induce them to go into “law” enforcement.

The mistake made over and over again is prioritizing the hiring of ex-military personnel to be police. The skills required are in no way related! Subdue and occupy is the goal of the military. To protect and serve should be the goal of police!

In my teens, I used to baby-sit for a city cop and his spouse who lived across the street. Very nice family, and from all I ever heard, he was highly respected as a cop. Mexican, too, in a city where anyone but Swedes, Norwegians, and the occasional German were thin on the ground.
