Doesn’t phase me a bit. Of course, I’m retired.

It seems that there is one of those EVERY week!

It’s not just Monday, the first 5 days after the weekend are the hardest.

It’s a day only a Lunatic would love.

20% of all sick days are on Mondays. That can’t be a coincidence.

Monday, Monday, can’t trust that day;

Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way.

Every other day, every other day week is fine,

This is why I always made payroll to my employees every Monday. They looked forward to coming in and it started their week with a pocketful of money.

Monday 7:00 A.M. a fresh workweek full of hope and promise. 7:01 A.M.-reality comes crashing down and dashes all hope.

The best thing about retirement is you can’t tell Monday from Saturday.

I’m retired so Mondays are great, I don’t like weekends anymore, too many people everywhere.

I usually felt that way in early August. That was the first teachers’ meeting of the year. Mondays just added to the weight. The year I retired, when August and the first Monday came up, I just let out a breath and said ’don’t look for me, Friends. I’m won’t be there.’ Not a moment of regret then and none since and that was 25 years ago.

A rather weighty definition.

Mondays have never been either in a state of disbelief or dread. In my earlier work years, Monday heralded the the start of a new week and all its potential. I was young then and probably too stupid to realize Monday’s inherent evil, but it still felt good to me. When I started my ministry and had a full ministry, Monday was the rest day after a very full Sunday of programing. But, as I entered in bivocational ministry, Mondays became the chance to earn real money to pay all those bills and put a bit more aside into savings. And though I’m retired, though still preachings, Monday has its potential, though I slept in today.

For the better part of the last 17 years, my “weekend” has always been Sunday/Monday, so Monday was always my “Sunday”. Didn’t have that foreboding Monday blues.

Not so for we H.S. student who had to stay up till 1 A.M. the night before to do our homework.
