Danae is getting ahead of the parents who usually blame the teacher/school for the failure of offsprings to measure up. Had a number of those one year.
Seems at the end of the 5th grading period Moms and Dads had not received report cards for Bismuth and Budgie et al. Storming into the school office, they raved and ranted about the poor system, etc. Imagine their faces when it was revealed that report cards had been sent via mail. For some reason, they were âshocked.â [It had only been done that way for about 20 years.]
âWell, what happened to them?!!?â This being a small rural county where everyone knew everyone, canny principal suggested they check at post office. [The post master was their neighbor.]
While I can only imagine the results after they found that the cards had been delivered as intended, I can also imagine the storm that swept through the area from house to house. But that storm also cleared the air of complaints about the system and its supposed failings. Next few years were very quiet.
Danae either doesnât understand that her grade is just a small part of the overall âgradesâ picture, or she â well, I think we all know itâs door #2.
It is funny how Danae does not realize that if it is just her test scores that are bad, then it reflects on her. It is only if everyone fails the test does it reflect on the teacher
My kids had a grade school teacher that if the whole class did poorly on a test or quiz, she would review the material and give another test. On the chance that she didnât teach the material as well as she should have, to me that makes perfect sense.
Just three years, seven months, thirteen days and five hours until retirementâŠthree years, seven months thirteen day and four hours and fifty five months until retirementâŠ
For those of us of an age who were spanked, not beaten, we deserved most of them, didnât warp any of us or make us violent and drove home the point there are consequences for your actions. Something the time out kids or heaven forbid no cell phone kids havenât learned.
I took some professional certification tests where they analyze the test results afterward. If there is a question where most people missed it, they concluded the question was badly designed and took it out of calculating the final score. It might be called an unintentional trick question. It would be nice if more testing took into consideration the fact they may have designed a really bad question.

Maybe itâs like Olympic sports where they discard the highest and lowest scores.

Fascinating that Danae seems to be relegated to the front desk .. no, maybe thatâs the reason sheâs relegated to the front desk âŠ

The flaw in her argument of it being the teacherâs shame is, if the rest of the class does well on scores, well thenâŠ

I like this teacher. Let the nutcases expound, but ignore their gall.

In my day, the teacher would have taken Danae into the âcloak roomâ for a meeting with The Board of Education.

I wonder if the teacher is a fan of Henry Rollins. He said when people offer him criticism or advice, heâd just reply âDuly noted.â
Which was his way of saying âF**K OFF!!â
