A heritage-listed building has been assessed as having aspects that are so important or significant that it is considered essential to preserve it. Mike is really laying on thick for Gordon here. I wonder what he wants. He already got a free Fudgie-Pop.
! might think the first Mac D’s to open back in the early 1960s or the first drive-in movie theater to open, is a heritage landmark, but how many repair garage / gasoline stations have been made a landmark in your town or city?
Back in the 70’s a friend bought an old farm at an repossession auction – in the barn were boxes of brand new parts for Model T’s and Model A’s – he advertised them in the mechanics world and made a fortune.
Ticketed? For what? It’s HIS personal property. I understand that some people might not like it, but it’s HIS. If people don’t like it, they don’t have to look at it. PERSONAL PROPERTY is private and busy bodies should mind their own business. As the old song says:Mind your own business;Mind your own business. If you mind your own business;you won’t be minding mine.
This arc is doesn’t make sense. Gordon worked there for some time, so there should be nothing about the place and its contents that he wasn’t fully aware of even before he took it over.
What do you think of ‘ER? Oh, there’s a lotta work to be done on ‘ER! Don’tcha know this garage is a GIRL, just like every car I work on? SHE’S a great car, Mr. P! I love my garage, I think I’ll marry ‘ER! I’m such a salt-of-the-earth everyman, aren’t I? Isn’t my creator, Lynn J, subtle??

He might be able to make a bunch of money selling off useless scrap metal. Might be quite a bit of it there.

And Gordon hasn’t yet been ticketed for holding on to that junk and creating a public nuisance?

Form follows function, Gordon. Do the most important things for your customers’ safety, comfort, and good service first.

Don’t fret Gord. A little bit of work getting the place cleaned up and looking good will make you appreciate it more

Or a rare parts storage area. Advertise them on-line for those who restore old cars and trucks.

That “landfill” is a gold mine for some.

Any decent garage has a land fill of old vehicles, parts etc. They are usually the only garage in town that can still rebuild a carburetor.

Gordon, sort out what you can use in the business and what you can’t, then get a junk dealer to come and take the stuff you can’t use off your hands.

Yep… every time I clean out stuff, especially the garage, I seem to end up with more later.

The previous owner was supposedly ill for a long time and that’s why it accumulated.
Any old glass soda bottles?

Seems like the perfect opportunity for a Garage Sale!

it’s an automotive archeological site. Get Mik’s buddies from the Uni to do a field research project, excavating there.
or “Find” a map (dating from before the original service station was built) that shows a hidden treasure somewhere behind the garage.

Our property resembled his garage except it was full of dying or improperly planted greenery, Has taken a while to make it acceptable and lovely.

You’ve got time Gordo, who knows what gold you might discover out back. One man’s junk, another’s treasure, etc.

Gordo’s not even consistent. If the garage is “SHE” and “’ER,” then shouldn’t he say “SHE’S more like a landfill”?
