I had a former coworker who did something like this, but he sat on the ground leaning against a tree and fell asleep for several hours. We couldn’t understand what had happened to him until he woke up and came back into the office.
This is all in her mind. No school has this beautiful setting around it. Too many are old and dilapidated and surrounded by concrete. Shopping malls are updated but never a place where children live much of their lives.
After 33 yrs of teaching, it got to the point you didn’t have enough time to walk to the teachers cafeteria to , walk there, get food, eat and socialize, walk back with potty easier to bring lunch and eat with nextdoor neighbors.

I had a beautiful parc to walk in when I was a teacher, as our university was situated on a former estate. Even saw a kingfisher there once.

If I ate my lunch in a place like that… I might not go back into the building!

This applies to any profession, not just educators. Enough time is spent at the workplace. Why eat lunch there, too?

WHAT!? She doesn’t spend every off minute with the children? Half-hearted dedication at best!

Remember, you only have 25 minutes before you have to go back on duty. That includes travel times and any personal (restroom) breaks.
