At sometime on another we all need a little space

The kids will be in the neighborhood.

Build a summer kitchen.

She can go to the kids’ house.

She will go to her tiny house or her she shed

We moved into our final house about 18 months ago and are still going thru a downsizing. The first things to go was everything belonging to our kids. I piled everything into my truck and dumped it on them. That cleared up a lot.

“I’ll just go feed the alligators. You should be able to fatten a few if you really irritate me.”

It def needs a bathtub

A bigger concern is where do you go to get away from yourself?

I don’t understand why adults with children would want to live in those tiny houses you see on TV. I need space.

Its true. Our second home was quite big. I figured it added another 18 years to our marriage.

Don’t think there is much chance of that Arlo.

why would that comment anger Janis? Arlo is just picking up on the vibes she has been giving him for the last few strips.

I assumed that was what her solo walks around the neighborhood were for.

A small house would be OK, a TINY house would NOT be OK. A survey showed that over 54% of “tiny home” owners regretted their purchase within one year. I would regret it within one day.

My wife just sends me to the store…

We have 1500 sq ft and he has a large shed but I still wish he had a basement to putter in. I go out on the 4 season porch when we’re in each others’ way.

exactly…..In a small house only one of us will make it.

There is a nice porch on the front and a nice deck on the back. Just need to put some cover over the deck in case of rain and to protect from the sun.

Some of us would be very happy to have that tiny house, or any other

Big houses not for older people unless they can afford maid and lawn service.

Pushing 70, we are alone in a 4-bedroom Victorian. Senior Management regularly brings up the convenience of a townhouse or apartment – but sometimes I need those other floors……..

And what if you need a second bedroom?

The first best thing I ever did was marry my Jane. The second best thing (smartest) I’ve ever done was to build my backyard shop/piddle palace.

Arlo sounds very needy and clingy today. Surely he must want some time alone for himself?

They would need 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs and a half bath(toilet and sink) downstairs to be comfortable. The patio and porch add extra private space in nice weather.

By moving from a larger home to a smaller one, you are creating another problem to deal with…. like what to do with all the things you have acquired during your life, and don’t really want to part with!!

I never understood this fascination with these tiny houses, especially the cost and the floorplans. I’ve seen regular campers/travel trailers that were set up much better, and the Park Model ones are really nice and for roughly the same amount of money.
