That is me, every time I have tried the self checkout machine. Due to the theft abuse, a lot of them are now being taken out.

Local store stopped using the hand-held scanners because they were stolen too often. Shopping baskets, stolen. When they lock up the vegetables it is the end of civilization….

I never use those lines how the heck those machines can check ID’s for the age of anyone buying beer.

The Lockhorns situation is why I don’t use self-checkout when I have a cart full of groceries. Plus allegedly they’re a trap for charges of shoplifting.

At our Costco they usually have employees scanning for you at the self checkout. Typically that’s the fastest way out of the store.

Self checkers are the fastest way to get slowed down while checking out.

Everyone complains about self checkout, but I prefer to do it myself. I don’t want to make small talk with the cashier.

A machine like that probably has noisy alarms.

When artificial intelligence works better than natural intelligence.

A few months before Bed Bath & Beyond crashed I went into a store with no cashiers. ALL self-service. Figured they weren’t going to last much longer.

Yeah, I hate that. It won’t even let me continue scanning other items while I wait.

Only way I’d ever use a self checkout is if they give me an employee discount.
