I have a watch that replaces my phone! It’s pretty cool. I couldn’t justify such a fancy watch for the phone function but I have a heart irregularity and having a portable 1 lead ekg on my wrist at all times has been very helpful for me. It feels very sci-fi to talk into my wrist communicator!
In the USAF time was regulated like everything else. In advertising the deadline set the time. Watches were necessary. As a classroom teacher, bells tolled the time.
But being retired has reduced the need for time keeping. I found that, when working our yard and flower beds, I get a lot more done without a wearing a watch. Breaks only occur to me when I finish a project, need a drink, go for tools or more plants. The time taken for either doesn’t matter. It is done when it is done and the watch doesn’t do anything to help.
First cell phones replaced home phones, then they replaced cameras, watches, stereos, newspapers, calendars, letters, and movie theaters. I wonder what’s next, cars? Admittedly, they have let us communicate more (better?) with each other.

Some of the apps available on my phone, if I used ’em, would DEFINITELY make the day seem longer.

There’s no app that will add hours to a day, but there is wi-fi outages.

Oh, the hours are still there. They’re just misused.

If he were arguing for more days, it would be a week case.

We don’t need more hours in a day, we need less. 12 hour days, 14 days in a week. You work 8 hours a day for 5 days, then have a 9 day weekend.

If you want to add more available hours to the day, wear a watch and ditch the phone

It’s easy to add more hours to the day. Just redefine the length of an hour.
Why not? They think pushing a clock ahead makes the day longer, and that’s even stupider.

Funny that the pocket computer/camera/alarm clock/etc is still called a phone. I rarely use it as a phone!

Careful what you wish for: Sting must have had phones in mind with this line of his from the mid-1980s, “It’s hard to tell the poison from the cure.”

Just need an app that blocks social media.

And THIS is where critical thinking makes SUCH a difference.
