Where does a 600lb bear sleep? Anywhere it wants to.

I don’t understand this one.

Something higher up the food chain moved in and the lower class (us) had to move out.

Somebody needs a sheltered place for the winter.

Why of course it GENTrified now.

A version of the old joke: “Where does a 600 pound bear sleep? Anywhere it wants to.”

“Bearly got out without injuries.”

Gentrification: the modern way of displacing those who are most in need of public services but who also are a drain on municipal budgets.

Or perhaps mine is a jaundiced view, but there are too many examples of spontaneous urban improvements and matching displacements to be appear as anything else.

Add to that the increased numbers of elder care facilities that have been bought, milked, and dumped by private equity companies, and the term displacement gains a whole new dimension.

Had to look it up… to change a place from being a poor area to a richer one, by people of a higher social class moving to live there:“The area where I grew up has been all modernized and gentrified, and has lost all its old character.”

Only, this time, the gent moving in isn’t wealthier, just much, much bigger.

Be glad the bear was looking for a den and not a bathroom. That would be a rude awakening. (I know, bears go in the woods.)
