If she went to a coffee place when dinosaurs roamed the earth, was she served by a Tea-Rex?

When I started my addiction, it was a quarter a cup.

In the movie “The Automat” they said that coffee going to 10 cents a cup is what killed the Automat.

In fairness, it doesn’t cost $4 a cup except in certain rip-off establishment.

And I won’t pay $4 a cup for something I can buy for less than $4 a pound.

Dinosaurs still roam the earth. You can tell which ones they are as they are the ones complaining about paying $4 for a cup of coffee.

Make it at home, you can save $300-$400 a year. Plus you don’t have drive anywhere and waste gas.

There was a cafe in my home town with a faded painting on the outside wall, “Coffee 5¢” But by the time I was a kid it was up to a dime.

7-Eleven makes a killing on selling “fresh brewed” coffee. Costs cents, sells for dollars. Actually the cup cost more that the actual coffee it contains.

I can remember when drinking coffee wasn’t a social statement. People didn’t drink it to look cool or important.

The C market price for green coffee beans today is $2.2625 / pound. Now, using a 6 ounce cup, there are aprx 32 cups in a pound, that’s $0.085 / per cup. Since I home roast, it’s about $0.22/cup after I buy quality greens online for about $7/lb.

When I started working coffee was 35 cents a cup with unlimited refills because people would buy pastries to eat with it.

So don’t buy it! Starbucks coffee isn’t particularly good anyway, so why waste money on it?

The specialty places charge more because it’s their only income source. Plain coffee is about $2.75 – $3.00. YMMV
