This is simple: A unanimous jury of randomly selected citizens, approved by both prosecution and the defense, has found trump guilty on 34 felony counts. Our system of laws requires that we respect unanimous juries. The president is the chief executive of the laws of the United States. For the sake of honoring our laws and Constitution, nobody should run for the office of president while convicted of felonies by unanimous juries of citizen peers.
Twelve citizens found Trump guilty. That is the system for our democracy, a process that is heavily weighted in the defendants’ favor. All this right-wing noise following the just and fair verdict is a slap in the face by people who don’t respect the law and have nefarious agendas.
The fact that so many would vote a felon into the highest office in the country is an indictment of them and their twisted values.
I would be a lot more sympathetic to this line of thinking if it were not for the fact that the defendant in this action has promised to do exactly the same thing, only on steroids. He’s now trying to backpedal and say he will get “retribution” by being “successful,” but we all know about “dog whistles.” Especially since at present and for many decades, the Justice Department has not been under day-to-day direction of the President; Trump has promised to bring it under his direct supervision and will order the prosecution of people who most likely have done nothing but oppose his positions. Just like Xi Jinping and Vlad Putin.
The people on that jury had the guts to do what is right, knowing that sycophantic sickos like this cartoonist would fuel the passions of the proven violent and dangerous MAGA mob.
FACE THE FACT… Trump’s entire candidacy is ILLEGITIMATE. Trump forfeited his right to ever again hold any public office when he attempted to overturn the results of a free and fair election and stop the peaceful transfer of power. PERIOD.
Many Trump sycophants and the MAGA folks in his base are P.O.‘d by the verdict. Likewise the loyal opposition is happy at least, if not satisfied — Trump is not yet breaking big rocks into little ones. Some of the MAGA folks are threatening violence — their ONLY refuge. One must ask one’s self this question: If the shoe were on the other foot, and Trump was acquitted or there was a mistrial, would those who abjure Trump and all that he stands for (i.e., kakistocracy) be threatening the violence which the MAGA folks are?
If not, then this seems to be the epitome, indeed, the very essence, of the difference between the two camps.
Great likeness of democrats destroying yet another statue. They’ve been doing this for 4 years now. “Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it”. The funniest thing I heard a week or two ago was a “man on the street” interview. He casually walked up to pro Palestine protestors and said “The chant, From the river to the sea”. What is the river and what is the sea? No answer from the little darlings. They don’t even know what they are protesting about.
13 times, a president has failed to get re-elected. 5 times, a president has failed to win the popular vote. 4 times, a president has failed to win their home state.4 times, a president has been impeached or resigned.
And only ONE TIME, during the existence of this country, has a president EVER been criminally convicted 34 times.
And only ONE President has done ALL FIVE of those things.
This is nonsense. The legal system has been rubble for a long, long time. The only thing unusual is that the loser in this case is rich (allegedly) and powerful.
Bragg’s office bumped up all the charges to felonies on the grounds that the conduct was intended to conceal another underlying crime: violating election finance law (‘with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof’).
He always gets himself into trouble. He then has ways of either getting out of it or at least mitigating the damages. But they require him to admit he isn’t Mr. Perfect. He will never admit he is anything but God’s gift to humanity, faultless in every form and fashion, and how dare anyone suggest otherwise. His every move is perfection, his every word gospel truth. Caught red-handed it is somehow the fault of others, a misunderstanding, or his divine right. Caught in a lie he didn’t say it, was misunderstood, misspoke, was joking, or was actually right don’tcha know. It’s sickening.

I wish Allie were more honest. He’s just upset because the lowly People of the State of New York dared question Supreme Leader Trump’s actions.

So isn’t legal to write off a hush money payment to a porn star as a business expense?
It it legal to write it off your taxes?
Ironically he hadn’t been a coward and tell his lawyer to make the payment none if this happens.
He just needed to write the check himself

MAGAt Allie knows His Messiah committed the crimes. Evidence was presented. He was convicted.
MAGAts believe he should be allowed to get away with them.

Eric likes lying, fascist and convicted felon Trump and thinks the racist is above the law.
In the meantime if you want to see ongoing political persecution look at the republican show trial of Hunter Biden in their right wing kangaroo court.
