We never have leftovers. At times I will cook for two days, have some of the meal that day and we will have the rest of it a day or two later. We don’t call it leftovers, we call it planning ahead.
Left over slop is not an encore for leftovers. Brutus famished stomach just dropped to a Southern BLT sandwich. Bologna fried/lettuce/tomato with slice bell pepper and Mayo. Yummy yummy.
Did I hear that Gladys made a meal that was edible. Hey, Brutus, let up. Leftovers for an edible meal from Gladys kitchen is got to be better than the alternative. Why mess up a good thing.
Whenever leftovers are the subject, I always think of (and might have mentioned here before) a Dave Berg Lighter Side from Mad magazine. The wife comes upon the husband in the kitchen, late at night, sees him having something to eat, and says, “What are you doing?”
“Having a midnight snack, and it is delicious.”
“But that’s the leftover pot roast from dinner. We were going to have it tomorrow.”
“Well, I’m glad I’m having it now, because I hate leftovers.”

If it had actually been such a hit yesterday, there wouldn’t be any leftovers.

My chewing gum may lose its flavor on the bedpost over night, but leftovers from the fridge are always a delight.

I had an idea for a restaurant that serves leftovers. For some reason the county inspector didn’t like the idea.

Tonight is BBQ ham. I haven’t figured out what side to fix for us yet. Perhaps sautéed yellow squash, onions with some cherry tomatoes.

I like Wendy’s chili, but I suspect it’s made from yesterday’s leftover burgers.

My wife hates leftovers. I, on the other hand, love them. I take them to work for lunch regularly.
