I don’t know if it’s a sad thing or not. Through out the years, when asked when is my birthday, I tell them Flag Day. It has been surprising how many don’t know when that occurs.
This reminded me of the American flag shown in the Star Trek episode “The Omega Glory”, in which “Kohms”, are at war with “savages” called “Yangs”. (that episode is ranked as one of the worst of that series)

How unusual of a cover – young kids beating on the bad guys, whom have guns (and a tommy gun) to be patriotic. I’m sure it was a different time back then and the appeal to young boys must have made this a good selling book. It’s still amusing and thanks for bring it up. Your pictures and witticism are very much appreciated – different from some of the standard fares of comics nowadays.
